From code to conversion.
Building the new Hencove website was the most fun I've ever had on a site build project. Constructing the SVG animations in the hero sections, the margins, and the column layouts was like exploring jungle without a guide. Building the animations into plugins and custom ACF blocks allowed me to debug quickly and easily, as well as isolate styles and functionality unique to certain components.
Although I can't take credit for developing the entire site, I am proud and grateful to have contributed to bringing this site to launch and beyond. Our web development team was provided a Figma file that detailed how components, patterns, and layouts should function across breakpoints. Trying to prioritize simplicity in execution, we created over 20 reusable components through Avada's built-in tools and custom code. Due to Avada's limitations, some components were pure SCSS and Javascript, while some were "no-code" solutions.
InterPayments was the first site where we deployed a custom Gutenberg-based Wordpress theme that went on to be the foundation for Inbound Health and hencove.com. A custom theme allowed us to implement the design quickly while maximizing customization and flexibility. Additionally, this freed us from relying on a third-party for theme support and gave us ownership over all aspects of content building.
When Oyster Farm went through a rebrand, it gave me an excuse to not only build a new website, but learn a new platform in the process. Coming from Squarespace, Webflow brought so many more options for customization and interactivity. Although the migration was put on hold, I look forward to making the switch over complete and not looking back.
